In addition to being one of the oldest forms of creative expression, figurative work holds a deep and mystical connection between the creator and the viewer. Letha's work is about exploring human connections, emotions, and conflicts. She is interested in the situations we face as humans and the myriad of ways we can chose to approach them. It is by these choices we define and direct the course and quality of our lives. As people,we share common experiences love, loss, friendship, family, culture and politics. The representation of these common experiences creates a tension between the viewer and the work, encouraging the audience to explore the narrative behind the image and compare it with their own lives. The goal of this interaction is to challenge, inspire, illuminate and touch the viewer while being true to her own perspective. |
