Shilo Jackson
Director
In 2008, Shilo had the opportunity to take over Kayo, and she jumped at the chance to keep Kenny Riches' vision for progressive art alive in Salt Lake City. As director, giving artists absolute control over their shows and bringing cutting edge art to Utah has been her primary goal. In 2010, Shilo turned Kayo into an L3C, allowing Kayo to accept donations. In addition to gallery stroll, Kayo partners with artist's with autism and presents a special show twice a year, featuring their work.
Shilo's previous experience includes curator and director of the Women's Art Center. She received her Bachelors in Fine Arts, Painting and Drawing from the University of Utah in 2009. Her work can be viewed at www.shilojackson.com.
Davina Pallone
Partner, 2008-2010
Assistant Director, 2005-2006
Davina began her journey with Kayo Gallery in 2005 as Assistant Director to founder Kenny Riches. While hanging shows, working in the frame shop, and doing anything else that was needed to run the gallery, she fell in love with the business of showing other artists' work.
In 2007, Davina took a year off to focus on intermedia studies at the University of Utah. She returned to Kayo in 2008 as a partner to Shilo Jackson—curating shows, helping orchestrate the gallery's day-to-day operations, and expanding the gallery's community ties as a member of the Utah Museum of Fine Arts Young Benefactors Executive Committee and Utah Pride Center Board of Directors.
Davina turned all reins over to Shilo in early 2010 to move to St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands. She is currently involved with the Caribbean Center Museum for the Arts in Fredriksted when she's not painting or drinking rum on the beach. Her artwork can be seen at www.davinapallone.com.
